The Intended Audience for the 60.41-Orthodontic Wire Basics course are students who seek training to become a state-licensed chairside orthodontic assistant who places braces and inserts orthodontic wires.
The student should first complete the 10.03-Introduction to OrthoTraining course before subscribing to this 60.41-Orthodontic Wire Basics course to learn how to efficiently navigate through a course, learning, remembering, and recalling the course objectives.
Minimum prerequisites for students who take this course are graduation from high school and 6 or more months of employment in an orthodontic practice. Students should be proficient in English.
Suggested prerequisites are college level courses in basic writing, basic math, introductory courses in biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and psychology. These courses will give students a solid foundation for future knowledge and advancement as an Orthodontic Assistant.
Course Content of 60.41-Orthodontic Wire Basics Course
The 60.41-Orthodontic Wire Basics course Presentation is 30 minutes run time with embedded quiz questions to facilitate focus and learning. There are 24 Knowledge Quiz questions. This course teaches important concepts for selecting the appropriate wire to insert into the orthodontic braces based on the phase of the patient’s treatment and the preferences of the doctor.
